Name: Talisker Known as: Liska Birthday: 25 February 1997 Age: Nine Years Breed: Yellow Labrador Sex: Female Height: 55cm or 22 inches Father: Stillarvon Sandman of Jimjoy Mother: Tyton Mother Francisca of Jimjoy Favorite Walk: Anywhere where there is water or mud so she can get really dirty and smelly! Favorite Food: Liska will eat anything, her food, Caluua's food, and the horses feed especially their carrots if she can steal them fast enough! In fact the only thing I am aware of that she doesn't like are lemons!
Talisker's original name was "Sky" but I really wanted to think of an unusual name for her... I eventually decided to call her Talisker as my Father had been given a bottle of Talisker Whisky from his Mother, just before she died. Every year his Brother and he would drink a toast to my Grandma and this year would be the last as the bottle was nearly empty. Also Talisker is distilled in the Isle of Sky so I thought it was a particularly fitting name for her. Over the years Talisker has been abbreviated and she is now affectionately known as Liska, except when she is naughty!
As a youngster Liska was the most destructive dog I have ever known! She chewed her bedding, the kitchen curtains along with the skirting boards and at least 3 mobile phones, not to mention the odd roast joint while I was setting the table in the dining room!! But by the time Liska turned 3, she became the most stable, honest and faithful friend I could ever wish for...
Liska came everywhere with me in the car, I even took her to work with me!! Since I now work from home she just enjoys keeping my feet warm under my desk!
When liska turned seven I decided to get a puppy to keep her young at heart! It took me about a year to research which breed would be suitable for my lifestyle and also hers. So when Liska turned eight, I started my search for a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy and eventually after a lot of searching for the perfect puppy and a few let downs, my amazing puppy "Caluua" joined our mad family!
Liska has taken to Caluua like a duck to water, she even developed milk two days after Caluua arrived!
Since May the pair have become firm friends, they play continually and hate to be parted!
